Double Tree’s guide to thermal paper features in ticketing applications

Dynamic sensitivity
Dynamic sensitivity shows how fast and with what energy level the thermal paper can be printed. Higher dynamic sensitivity equals easier print imaging.

Non-topcoated grades
As the name suggests, our non-topcoated ticket grades do not include an additional protective coating layer. However, they still offer reliable performance and provide moderate resistance to heat, light (UV), plasticisers, oils, and solvents. With image durability ranging from 7 to 10 years, these grades are a cost-effective and practical choice for short- to medium-term applications such as entrance tickets, parking passes, and other limited-use ticketing needs.

Ultra-high preservability
Our thermal ticket grades with ultra-high preservability, offer 25 years of image stability. They are engineered for the most demanding ticket applications and provide extremely high stability and resistance to plasticisers, oils, fats, and water.

Topcoated grades
Topcoated papers feature an extra protective coating layer engineered for high durability.  These grades provide:

  • *Superior resistance to heat, light (UV), plasticisers, oils, and solvents

  • *Ideal for demanding applications like travel tickets or multi-use passes

  • *Excellent print longevity

Preservability
Preservability indicates how long the thermal print remains legible under proper storage. Depending on the grade, our ticketing materials offer a preservability of 7 to 25 years.

Non-Phenol
In thermal ticket paper, the image is formed through a chemical reaction in the thermal layer. Some developers contain bisphenols. Double Tree´s non-phenol grades are made without bisphenol, supporting safer, more sustainable paper solutions.

Pre-printability
All our grades are pre-printable, so you can add a design or branding using traditional printing methods such as flexographic or offset printing. You can view grade-specific recommendations in the technical data sheets on our product-search page.

Reverse side printability
Want to print on the back of your tickets? Look for reverse side printable grades, which enhance print quality on both sides of the paper. Ready to start exploring?
